Registration & Parent Permission Form (2009).pdf (169.81 KB ) Code of Conduct.pdf (94.41 KB ) Teams for 2009/10 season will include Saturday morning U/12s, Saturday morning U/14s (if enough player interest) and Friday evening U/14s and U/16s. Competition for the U/12s is only available on Saturday mornings. Age groups are determined from the age of players as at 1 September 2009, and players must be 9 years of age before they are able to play in a team. The playing time for Saturday matches is generally 8.45 - 11.30am, with Friday twilight matches played from 4.45 - 7.15pm. Matches commence Friday 9th October for the twilight competition, and the next day on 10th October for the Saturday competition. The season registration fee is $140, which covers cricket equipment and gear, ground hire, player insurance, and a complimentary Club training shirt. Player registration forms are available at training and can be completed and handed to the coach. All training is held at or within the vicinity of the EE Gunn Reserve practice nets, off Foch St, Ormond. The training days and times are as follows: U/12 (upper age players) - Thursday 4.15 - 5.45 pm U/12 (lower age players) - Wednesday 4.30 - 6.00 pm U/14 players - Monday 4.30 - 6.00 pm U/16 players - Tuesday 5.30 - 7.00 pm For training, players should try to wear a white (or predominantly white) shirt and either white cricket pants or dark coloured shorts (preferably navy). Players are reminded to wear underpants (not boxer shorts) and bring along a drink bottle and a cap/hat. All cricket gear is supplied for training and for matches. player sponsorship schemeThe Ormond Cricket Club operates a Player Sponsorship Scheme. What is this? It's simple - for $100 a player can be sponsored. The benefit for the sponsor is that their name and any logo is listed below the player's picture in the clubroom for the duration of the season. The benefit to the player is that they will have their picture hung up in the clubrooms and the player will benefit from a choice of either a $40 rebate off their season registration fee, or a $40 'refreshment card' which entitles the player to $40 worth of complimentary drinks and snack food during club functions etc, or another choice is for the full sponsorship amount to be retained by the club. A Player Sponsorship Application Form is available here. An example of a Player Sponsor Poster from last season is available here. CLUB CRICKET CLOTHINGAll junior registered players will receive a complimentary cricket training shirt. The Club also sells the following cricket clothing, all with the Club logo embroidered on them: White playing shirts $25 Cricket Cap $15 Blue training shorts $15 All gear will be available for purchase at training. It is not compulsory that junior players have to wear the Club playing shirt in matches, however, all players are required to wear a white cricket shirt in matches (i.e. t-shirts and button-up white shirts are not permitted). Players will also be required to wear long white cricket pants, and these can be purchased from Sportsmart, Rebel Sport. etc. All players are strongly recommended to wear a hat or cap at all times during matches and training for protection from the sun. In relation to caps, only the Club's cricket cap is permitted to be worn during matches and at training. Any white/cream canvas broad-brimmed cricket hat may be worn, however, we would prefer the Club hat to be worn by players who prefer to wear hats over caps. All boys are recommended to have their own cricket protector (or 'box'), however, each kit does have cricket protectors available. Please remember to separately and clearly name all items of personal gear. MILO 'IN2CRICKET' PROGRAMThe Ormond Cricket Club MILO In2Cricket program is a fun, introductory cricket program for boys and girls aged 5 – 9 years. The program is conducted on Sunday mornings (10.00am - 11.30am) at our home ground, EE Gunn Reserve, and runs for 12 weeks, commencing Sunday 8th November 2009. The aim of the program is to teach 5-9 year olds the basics skills of cricket in a fun atmosphere.
